Recipe after recipe finds its way to these pages and believe me they are all fit for human consumption! This issue though, I wanted to include a special little treat for our trusted companions - dogs and cats (with apologies to other pet owners). Our furry friends will love us even more after munching one of these!!
12-16 ozs. raw liver
1 1/2 lbs. white flour
8 oz. oatmeal flakes
3 bouillon cubes (chicken or beef flavored)
Approx. 1 cup water
2 eggs, beaten
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Chop liver finely, by hand or in a food processor. In a large bowl mix flour and oats, crumble in the bouillon cubes, add eggs and chopped liver. Add enough water to make a firm but slightly sticky dough. Spread evenly on the sheets about 1 1/2 inch thick. Dip a dog-biscuit cutter into flour and then cut out biscuits. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 1 hour. Store in and airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
